TEHRAN The transportation capacity of the country's commercial ports is projected to reach 59.5 million tons by the end of the Third Plan Five-Year Plan in 2004.

The Management and Planning Organization (MPO) has announced that the transportation capacity of the commercial ports of Iran will increase to 47.68 million tons this year. It is projected to reach 51 million tons next year and 55.2 million tons in 2003.

Based on the MPO's report, 3.2 million tons of goods will be transited through Iran's commercial ports this year and 6 million tons in 2004. p.4
